Ingredients

  • 1 kilo pork ribs
  • 1 liter soft drink
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 3 tbsp white sugar
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp honey optional

Instructions

  • Remove white membrane by turning ribs over (bones curled towards you) to reveal the membrane. It will be a piece of tissue that is thin, and shiny, and almost see-through.
    1 kilo pork ribs
  • Get your finger or a small knife and slide it underneath the membrane from end-to-end to remove. Rinse ribs and cut into smaller sizes for easier cooking in the pan.
  • In a deep, large pan or skillet add the pork ribs, soft drink, salt, pepper, ketchup, paprika, white and brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic and honey.
1 liter soft drink, 1/2 tbsp salt, 1 tsp ground black pepper, 1/2 cup tomato ketchup, 1 tbsp paprika, 3 tbsp white sugar, 3 tbsp brown sugar, 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 4 cloves garlic, 2 tbsp honey
  • Place on a stovetop and bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook for 20 minutes then turn the ribs over and cook for 20 minutes.
  • Lower heat and continue cooking while turning the ribs until tender and sauce is reduced.
  • Transfer ribs in a plate then continue simmering the sauce while stirring in low heat until thick. Transfer sauce in a bowl.
  • Using the same pan over medium-high heat. Return the ribs in batches and sear sides for a few seconds or until slightly charred. You can baste with sauce to keep them moist.
  • Place ribs in a serving plate and drizzle with sauce. Serve and enjoy. Bon appetit!
