For the Chow Mein Sauce:
- 280 ml chicken broth hot water + 1 chicken cube
- 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 3 tbsp light soy
- 3 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- dash of ground black pepper
Other ingredients
- 300 grams fresh egg noodles chow mein noodles
- 3 cloves garlic crushed
- 1 medium onion
- 1 medium carrot julienned
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 cup beans sprout sides removed
Making Chow Mein
Heat a pot or wok over medium-high heat then add the cooking oil.
When the oil is hot enough, saute the garlic for a couple of seconds then add the onion, cook until translucent. Tip in the carrots and cook until soft and tender.
Throw in the fresh egg noodles then toss to separate. Cover the pot/wok with a lid to let it cook for a few minutes (approx 3-4 minutes).
Then add the beans sprout, toss again to distribute then pour the pre-made chow mein sauce.
Toss once more to coat the egg noodles with sauce then cover. Turn down heat if needed and let the sauce be absorbed by the noodles. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve and Bon Appetit!
