Ginisang Sayote

- 2 large chayote peeled, quartered then sliced
- 3 tablespoon cooking oil
- 1 small onion sliced
- 3 cloves garlic chopped
- 1 tsp achuete powder optional
- 1 medium tomato sliced
- 200 grams ground pork
- 1/4 tsp salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp ground pepper
- 4 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 1/2 cup water
Heat oil in a wide pan or skillet over medium heat. Sauté garlic and onion until translucent and fragrant.

Add tomato and cook until wilted. Mix-in achuete powder and and cook for 1 minute.

When tomatoes are wilted, tip in the ground pork and cook for 6-8 minutes or until browned.
200 grams ground pork
Pour fish sauce and add ground pepper. Stir to incorporate.

Add sayote slices then stir to mix with other ingredients until incorporated.

Add water and stir then cover pan with a lid. Simmer for 15-20 minutes or until sayote slices are tender.
